How Hot Water Can Damage Your Skin (detoxification montana) Print E-mail
By Aydan Corkern

Are you a person that loves to take hot showers or have your bath water so hot that you turn your skin a very bad shade of red? Did you realize that you are doing a lot of damage to your skin? Not only are you causing your skin to dry out but you are also causing your pores to close because they are trying to protect themselves from becoming burned. Very hot water can cause your skin to become blistered, and this will cause your skin to peel, exposing the tender layers of skin underneath to become damaged also. When these areas dry, they will start to shrink and start to really hurt even to the touch of water or even air.

If you have a small area, you can put lotion or something else over it to keep it safe from drying out. Then you can put a wrap on top to keep this area moisturized, but if this area is bigger, then you will need to go see your doctor so that they can help you get better because they will make sure that you don't become infected as this could have very quickly.

If you really like to take these hot showers or baths, you might want to consider turning down the heat of your water just a bit so that you don't run the risk of hurting the thin layers of your skin. When you are done with your shower or bath, never rub your skin with the towel when you are dying yourself off. Always pat your skin to remove any extra water from your skin, being careful not to rub off any of this overly warm skin because the more you rub, the more skin you will remove. If this water was to hot and you rub this skin too hard, you can tear this damaged skin very easily.
After you have had your bath, you will want to put a very good body lotion on your skin to help retain any water on your skin.

As our skin seems to become drier in the wintertime, this lotion is so important because not only are we taking warmer baths, but we also have to run our gas furnaces, which also cause our skin to become dry, and so does electric heat. In the winter months, we have to wear more clothes that also make our bodies become dry because our legs and our whole bodies can't breathe, and this is what makes our skin itch.
